Everything you do in Vector — your [workspaces](/account-and-team/workspaces), projects, [competitors](/competitors/add-competitors), keys — sits behind your account. Nobody who isn't signed in sees any of it, and other accounts can't see yours. ## Create an account Sign up with your email address and a password. You will get a confirmation email; once you confirm the address, you're taken straight into your first workspace, which is ready to work in immediately. If the email address is already registered, Vector says so and points you to signing in or recovering your password instead of creating a second account. ## Sign in Use any of these ways — they all lead to the same account as long as the email address is the same. Signing in with Google using an address you already registered with a password takes you into your existing account, not a new one. * **Email and password** — what you set up at registration. * **Google** — one click, no password and no email confirmation step. * **Magic link** — Vector emails you a one-time link that signs you in without a password. The link works once and expires; if it has been used or has gone stale, request a new one. ## Reset a forgotten password Ask for a password reset on the sign-in screen, and Vector emails you a link. Open it, set a new password, and the old one stops working. For security, the reply is the same whether or not the address has an account — so the message you see doesn't confirm that an account exists. ## Stay signed in or sign out Your session survives closing the browser: come back later and you're still signed in, in the workspace you were last using. **Logout** ends the session. If your session expires while you're working, Vector asks you to sign in again and returns you to the screen you were on. ## What your account owns Every workspace belongs to exactly one account, and a new account always gets its own first workspace. You always have at least one workspace — the last one can't be deleted. A link to a workspace that isn't yours simply returns "not found".
