# Vector help center

> Find your way around Vector: what the product does, how to set it up, and where each part of it is documented.

Vector answers two questions a founder keeps asking: who else is doing this, and what should we build next.

You start with one line about your product. From it Vector finds your competitors and researches each one, and everything it learns adds up to a catalog of the features your market offers — who has each one, and whether you do. From that catalog you pick what belongs in your product and prepare it for development. Meanwhile Vector watches those competitors, so when one of them ships something, you find out from your inbox instead of from a customer.

New here? Read [What Vector is](https://docs.getvector.me/getting-started/what-is-vector.md) and [How Vector works](https://docs.getvector.me/getting-started/how-vector-works.md) first, then work through the [setup checklist](https://docs.getvector.me/getting-started/set-up-your-workspace.md) — it walks you through the product in the order it's meant to be used.
